A vCIO is an industry veteran who will partner with your organization’s upper management to understand your strategic IT objectives. The vCIO will implement strategies and select technologies that remain aligned with your organization’s overall strategic objectives. The vCIO be responsible for maintaining technology, IT staff, and infrastructure. The vCIO will advise on new purchases and tech, monitor budgets, and provide guidance within the organization. The vCIO also provides your organization with a holistic approach to addressing critical issues as well as planning and preparing for future needs.
The vCIO will become an active member of your management team. His/her responsibilities will consist of the following:
• Participation in quarterly meetings of your IT steering committee to provide strategic guidance, assist with IT budget planning and develop your IT infrastructure road map.
• IT resource and vendor management.
• Assistance in the development and maintenance of your IT strategic plan, definition of IT projects and supervision of strategic technology initiatives.
• Assistance in the development and maintenance of your PCI and HIPAA compliance initiatives.
• Assistance in the development and maintenance of your IT data security initiatives.
• Examination and IT audit consultation, including how to respond to IT-related questionnaires for third-party and regulatory agencies, third-party IT audit support and consultation to prioritize audit-finding remediation.
• Business continuity planning, including consultation for enhancements to disaster recovery testing procedures and assisting with the development of your business continuity planning program.
